PS 84 and El Puente Academy are working together on a Community Mural. Theme is NurtureNature, based on community and gardening, inspired by drawings created by PS 84 kids and families.
There were several school meetings eliciting ideas from parents and students. El Puente Academy students along with El Puente Muralist have been working with PS 84's 4th and 5th grade students in creating a mural that represents the school.

Headed by Joe Matunis, the Murals project combines community awareness about various social issues with creativity to give students a chance to create a meaningful art project while learning how they are part of something bigger than themselves.
