School-wide Programs & Materials

  • New York SunWorks’ maintenance & curriculum development for PS 84’s hydroponic, aquaponic 2500 sq ft rooftop greenhouse classroom

  • Sheet music for the Music Department, plus regular classes, PS 84 Chorus, Concert Band, Orchestra, Glee Club, Pop Band Ensemble & school musical programs

  • Instrument Scholarship funds for Concert Band & Orchestra

  • Annual trip to American Young Voices for the PS 84 Chorus

  • Science Equipment ranging from balances to skeletons and everything in between for our FOUR dedicated science teachers

  • Digital SLR cameras and memory cards for the Art Department and Photography Club used by Middle School Students

  • 30 iMac computers for our state-of-the-art computer lab used by students from K to Middle School for coding programs like Blockly, Tynker, STMath, & more

  • Materials for the Art room

  • Lego Robotics equipment & 3-D printing materials for engineering

  • Playbooks, costumes, & props for the school musical

  • Library books

  • Supporting our recycling and sustainability program in the lunchroom

  • International Night with food and music from students’ cultural heritages

  • Science Exploratorium evening event where students display fun and factual science experiments

  • Artstravaganza where students’ art is displayed throughout the school like an art gallery

  • Salsa Night with instructors from local dance studios

  • Winter Fest and an end of the year Block Party to bring the community together

Community Involvement

  • Ongoing block beautification efforts including Mural Maintenance, tree pit plantings, and partnership with Friends of William Sheridan Playground

  • Parenting workshops on topics like bullying prevention, child development & more
