Volunteer at a Fundraiser or School event
The PTA produces many fundraisers and community-building events. These events are run by parent volunteers and are a good way to get to know your fellow parents and school community while helping the school.

Plans and implements community-building events and workshops, such as costume swap, movie night, etc. Specifically focuses on fun events that are free or inexpensive to attend. The goal of this committee is not to raise funds, but to strengthen our community.
Gardens & Grounds
The Gardens & Grounds committee keeps our school beautiful by tending to the gardens and trees surrounding the school building, as well as the garden in the preK/Kindergarten play yard.

Implements web and social media platforms and creates marketing materials for the school and PTA.
Music & Performing Arts
This committee helps to support performing arts events such as concerts, 5th Grade musical, chorus, band, etc.
The Visual Arts Committee manages the Materials Room a.k.a. Studio 84 and coordinates crafts & materials for special events as needed.
The Wellness Committee promotes healthy eating, environmental sustainability, and overall wellness in the school.
Friends of William Sheridan Playground
This special interest group liaises with NYC Parks to steer the refurbishment of William Sheridan Playground, adjacent to PS 84.
Marathon Bake Sale
Chairs: 1st Grade Classes
This committee helps to plan and execute our annual Bake Sale on Marathon Sunday (first Sunday in November).
Family Photo Day
This committee helps to coordinate our beloved annual Family Photo Day and Holiday Market. Event usually takes place the first Saturday in December.
This committee plans and executes our Camp Fair in February, showcasing after-school and school holiday camps in North Brooklyn and beyond. Exhibitors pay a table fee. The event is free for the public to attend.
Annual Gala & Silent Auction
This committee is instrumental in planning our biggest fundraiser of the year. The Gala usually takes place in March or April.
This committee helps to plan our final fundraiser and family-fun event of the year in early June.
Book Fair & Library
Volunteer at the Annual Book Fair in November.
Ms. Pecoraro also welcomes parent volunteers in the library during student visiting hours for circulation, read-alouds and technology duties.
